  3. Hello Jeff,
Thank you for visiting Saharan Vibe.
I am still working on the African cities postings and will be adding one or two sentences about each city. However, one of the challenges was that for most of the cities accessing city photos online was more like looking for a needle in a hay stack. Nevertheless it is fun.

    Otherwise keep visiting the vibe.

  4. Liz,
The best way would probably be to contact some photo bloggers of photo-journalists of a particular country.Nevertheless, I think you have already done a fantastic job of highlighting our cities.

  5. Habari Liz,

Our Africa is very beautiful than we(Africans)think of it. But we need to do something to improve life conditions in rural Africa where most of the African population reside.

You may get more nice pictures of Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Zanzibar and Kampala from issamichuzi.blogspot

    Viva forever Saharan Vibe!

  7. Hello Liz,

I'm eagerly awaiting for that A.C part II.But frankly speaking I don't have any Dodoma pictures. But I remember I saw one on Issamichuzi blogspot sometimes back in November or October last year.I think Majjid's jambophotos.com may have some.

    Ahsante sana Dada!

  8. Hi Liz,

Is it just natural that Libreville and Monrovia look identical or there was a posting error?

    Cheers.

  11. Hello Liz,

You probably noticed that I linked to this post from my blog

I think you did a great work, really useful to break stereotypes of Africa in some countries like Spain. This is one of my goals with my blog, so I found yours really useful :)

    Thanks!

    David

  12. Hi David,

I am glad to learn that you find my blog a useful informative tool. I have always believed that what Africa needs is African solutions for African shortcomings/problems. One of the major challenges I am seeking to address is the mass ignorance about the African continent by outsiders plus those of us who call Africa home.

Please see the posting on Sudan posted on 31st May. The skyline in Khartoum will soon set higher standards to which other African states will seek to emulate.

  13. Hi again,
    Yes, you're right
I have read your post about Sudan (31st May) and I find it really interesting too. I thing I'll prepare something about it soon, linking again :)

  15. These are some pretty cool photos. As someone who spent considerable time in Africa, though, I can assure you that these photos don't capture the real spirit of what goes on.

I've been to 4 or 5 of the cities here and the only ones that I know are actually relatively attractive cities are Cape Town and Pretoria in South Africa. Maputo, by contrast, is an extremely ugly city as is Dar Es Salaam.

So folks, don't get too romanticized in your heads about Africa. It has it's charm, but it's by no means the perfect place. Take it from someone who knows.
